Sandra, Software Engineer ITSM Platform Configuration

I’m from this region, having grown up close to Burghausen. I temporarily moved away to study, even though I did my co-op program at WACKER. The university was located in Baden-Württemberg, and my practical work placements took place at various WACKER sites. Following completion of my studies, I applied in-house and was directly taken on.

Burghausen is not big, but has a lot to offer: a great cultural program, especially the Jazz Week, which always brings in world-class stars. There are mountains nearby, beautiful lakes and great bike paths. You can also meet other people quickly through the very active clubs and associations here.

When starting work, I was first involved in support topics and managing external service providers. I also did a master’s degree while I was working. To complete my thesis I took a three-month sabbatical so that I could concentrate on writing it up. Once my studies were complete, I moved up to my current position.

As a Software Engineer ITSM Platform Configuration, I currently work part-time and look after our Service Management platform. We provide users with comprehensive IT services and valuable support. We use digital workflows to design collaboration at WACKER more efficiently. This is where I advise my customers, i.e., the employees in our IT and in other company departments, regarding digitization initiatives or process requirements. I also create technical solutions and implementation concepts. These are then implemented within customer projects.

I particularly enjoy the collaboration with professional IT personnel and with all the different departments at WACKER. I am proud that I can facilitate their work by promoting the digital transformation at WACKER. The best part is being able to work on varied and exciting topics.
