CAVASOL ^®

CAVASOL^® cyclodextrins are a range of chemically modified α, β and γ cyclodextrins, i.e. cyclodextrin derivatives. The main commercial products are hydroxypropyl-modified α, β and γ-cyclodextrins and methylated β-cyclodextrins. However, many others products have been developed, but not sold commercially. The main benefit of this modification is to significantly increase solubility in aqueous media.

CAVASOL^® cyclodextrin derivatives are primarily used for VOC-free solubilization of additives in industrial applications, for controlled release of pharmaceuticals, increasing the solubility of cyclodextrin/drug complexes in the body. The increased bioavailability of the pharmaceutical active means it is absorbed faster and more extensively in the body.
