The New Eco Grades for Building Protection

We are expanding our eco portfolio for construction applications. From now on, two water-repellent agents from the SILRES^® BS family are available in sustainable variants:

SILRES^® eco BS 4004 – Impregnation for absorbent substrates: This general-purpose water-repellent agent is perfect for most building substrates – whether brick, sand-lime brick, natural sandstone or mineral plaster.
SILRES^® eco BS CREME D – Ready-to-use product for drying out masonry: SILRES^® eco BS CREME D is a water-repellent injection agent that stops rising damp in masonry.

Excellent Hydrophobic Properties

The water hits the surface – and rolls off. That’s how easy it is to explain the effect of the SILRES^® eco BS silicone water-repellent agents. Even after impregnation, masonry and facades can still “breathe”. That’s because silicone-based building protection products allow water vapor to pass through. Algae and fungi can no longer grow on them. Water-soluble salts are prevented from penetrating. And, because the building structure stays dry, the insulation value also remains constant. That is how you build for the future.

A Sustainable Replacement for a Key Raw Material

The methanol sourced from fossil fuels is replaced in the production process by biomethanol obtained from straw and grass cuttings. SILRES^® eco BS 4004 and SILRES^® eco BS CREME D are thus among the first water-repellent agents in building protection to be certified according to the mass balance approach of REDcert² standard.
