In 2010, Wacker Chemicals Korea Inc. took over the South Korean Lucky Silicone brand and the accompanying site with the country’s biggest production plant for silicone cartridges. At that time, Lucky Silicone was already the market leader in manufacturing silicone sealants for the construction industry with a country-wide network of distributors. Since 2012, we have also been producing specialty silicones for the electronics industry there.

With our move to the Sansu Industrial Complex in 2018, we started up an entirely new production site for silicones. It offers sufficient room to cater to the region’s rapidly rising demand for silicones. Here, we manufacture and package silicone sealants for construction applications along with specialty silicones, liquid silicone rubber grades and silicone elastomers for the automotive and electronics industries – under cleanroom conditions. The production of dust-free and extremely clean high-performance silicones is an important quality criterion for our customers from the electronics sector.
