Wacker Biosolutions León S.L.U.

In 2016, our WACKER BIOSOLUTIONS division acquired a large-scale fermentation plant for producing fermentation-based cystine in León, Spain. WACKER is the world’s first company to bioengineer cystine in a patented, fermentation-based process that eliminates any risk of contamination by animal or human pathogens and is therefore of particular interest to the pharmaceutical, cosmetics and food sectors.

Thanks to this new production site, we are well placed to meet your needs reliably and to commercialize new fermentation-based products in the future.
