External Thermal Insulation Composite Systems (ETICS/EIFS)

Temperature fluctuations, moisture and mechanical stress are a great challenge for external thermal insulation composite systems. Reliable functioning of modern external thermal insulation composite systems depends largely on the adhesive and base coats used. As polymer binders, VINNAPAS® dispersible powders and dispersions improve adhesion to many substrates, increase the flexibility and impact strength of the system, and provide protection and durability against external influences.

Grades based on vinyl acetate-ethylene (VAE) are particularly suitable:

  • Adhesion is promoted by the strong physical affinity between ethylene and expanded polystyrene
  • The high ethylene content improves flexibility and impact resistance without additional plasticizers

Benefits:

  • Good adhesion (to masonry, concrete and different insulation materials such as EPS or mineral wool)
  • Improved flexibility and impact resistance
  • Good compatibility with cement and alkaline surfaces
  • High flame retardancy (particularly VC-containing terpolymers)

Applications:

  • Adhesive mortar for ETICS
  • Base coats for ETICS
