Composite materials

Composites are typically made from a thermoset bonding material and from a reinforcement in the form of fillers and fibers. A very broad range of manufacturing technologies can be used to make composite materials. High-performance resins and filler-treatment agents enhance the material properties of the composite. Production processes can be controlled and optimized by means of additives and auxiliaries.
Applications:
- SMC (sheet molding compound) processes
- BMC (bulk molding compound) processes
- Hand lay-up processes
- Spray-up processes
- Infusion processes
- Prepreg processes
- Pultrusion and
- RTM (resin-transfer molding) processes
