March 19 – 20, 2025; Amsterdam, the Netherlands; visit us at booth #205

What’s next in the silicone industry?

Our silicone experts are already looking forward to welcoming you at Silicone Expo Europe , taking place from March 19 to 20, 2025 in Amsterdam. Let’s meet at our booth #205 to discuss the challenges and solutions in manufacturing products with LSR, HCR, RTV as well as silicone fluids, resins and emulsions.

Related to the co-located Gasket & Seals show, we put a spotlight on our silicone solutions for sealing and bonding. Learn more on LSR and HCR for preformed gaskets and RTV-1/RTV-2 for cured-in-place (CIPG) or formed-in-place gaskets (FIPG) at our booth.

If you’d like to get in touch with us beforehand, kindly approach your usual WACKER contact person or email us:

Reflect on what matters: reliability

How can we improve your sealing technology?

With our broad product range of the ELASTOSIL® series, we offer silicones for all kinds of gaskets and sealings. Since gaskets operate at the interface between interior and exterior, hot and cold, or wet and dry, they are frequently exposed to extreme conditions. These severe physical challenges are met perfectly by WACKER silicone gaskets, which perform with absolute reliability.

Note: use our product finder on wacker.com or get in touch with our silicone experts via tradeshows@wacker.com

Reflect on what matters: technology

How can we reduce production costs for high-quality LSR parts?

With our latest ELASTOSIL® LR 5003 series, we're offering new food-grade liquid silicone rubbers (LSR) that can almost always be processed without thermal post-treatment. This enables higher productivity and more effective quality assurance through fully automated production chains.

Reflect on what matters: sustainability

How can we make your value chain more sustainable?

With our ELASTOSIL® eco concept, we offer silicone rubber grades whereby the relative mass of fossil based raw materials is replaced by corresponding amounts of bio-based methanol from sustainable sources according to the mass balance approach.

Reflect on what matters: collaboration

How you can benefit from our collaborative approach?

Together with our customers and market partners, we are continually working on optimizing product characteristics to make end products better and our customers’ production processes more efficient. Take a look at our recent cases!

Case #1:
From light to lettering: laser marking on silicones

The lettering remains even after the light has faded away: using a laser beam for marking and labeling – or simply laser marking – is an excellent method for high-precision, permanent marking on silicone products. Among its several applications, laser marking is used, for instance, on medical devices, cables or household goods – in other words, wherever distinct, razor-sharp and permanent labeling is required. In collaboration with our partners Merck Electronics KGaA and König & Bauer Coding GmbH we lay the foundation for new, future-oriented opportunities and lead laser marking.

Case #2:
Sustainable freshness with a flick of the wrist

Healthy lemon juice whenever you want it? A commercially available silicone lemon juicer promises just that. We made it possible: in cooperation with our partners Nexus Elastomer Systems and ENGEL AUSTRIA, we produced the lemon juicer live at our booth at the K 2022 International Trade Fair. This handy kitchen utensil introduced attendees to our mass-balanced eco silicones, so that they could see for themselves how highly automated injection molding can be used for processing addition-curing solid silicone rubber grades.

Case #3:
Injection molding with non-postcuring ELASTOSIL® LR 5040 – reuse beats single use

Parts made from liquid silicone rubber (LSR) must be postcured if they are intended for sensitive applications such as babycare products, food contact, and medical technology. One of LSR’s key advantages is that it can be mass-produced in a highly precise, automated injection-molding process.

At the K 2019 International Trade Show, we unveiled our non-postcuring liquid silicone rubber ELASTOSIL® LR 5040 with an impressive live demonstration at our booth: an injection-molding machine produced silicone lids that visitors could use for their reusable coffee cups straight away. The demonstration line was run in conjunction with our partners KraussMaffei Technologies GmbH, ACH Solution GmbH and AVR Tech Innovations GmbH.

Case #4:
A medium for “sil-iconic" art

The internationally renowned weaving artist Monika Fioreschy replaced the classic wool thread on her loom with silicone tubes made of WACKER solid silicone rubber more than 30 years ago. By experimenting with this unusual material, she found new ways of expressing her art of weaving and transformed conventional picture weaving in a sensational way. Discover her innovative art forms “Transfusion silicones” and “Sil-Icons”, for which we offer the perfect material.
