WACKER House – WACKER through and through
If it says WACKER on it, there’s WACKER in it – of course. But this claim no longer applies only to our packaging. It also applies to our new corporate headquarters: many of our own products were used in the construction of WACKER House in Munich – for example, the sustainable silicone sealant ELASTOSIL® eco.
It goes without saying that our products offer excellent quality. That’s why we use them ourselves wherever we can. For example, at WACKER House, our new corporate headquarters. This new building, which we moved into in June 2024, is located in Munich’s Werksviertel district. Covering an area of around 18,000 m2, these new premises offered us plenty of opportunities to introduce our products in various areas and applications – with the main focus on silicone- and polymer-based products.
At WACKER, all the signals point to green
Sustainability aspects in particular played a role in the product selection. The WACKER House was designed in line with the latest standards in sustainable building technology. District heating, triple glazing, insulated walls, material-saving construction methods: based on these and other measures, we are striving to achieve the highest level of certification for ecological construction (LEED standard) for WACKER House. It was therefore obvious to us that the building materials were also to be green right from the start.
ELASTOSIL® eco: the first choice in WACKER House
Given the high level of sustainability, ELASTOSIL® eco fits in well with the concept of the building: with ELASTOSIL® eco, we offer ready-to-use silicone sealants based on renewable raw materials. We make ELASTOSIL® eco by replacing the fossil methanol with sustainable, certified biomethanol in accordance with the mass balance method. This makes ELASTOSIL® eco a sustainable silicone sealant for a wide range of applications – and the perfect material for the new WACKER House. As a joint sealant in sanitary applications and other areas, its durability and longevity will be demonstrated over the coming years.

No compromises on quality
We made a conscious decision to first offer the premium products under the ELASTOSIL® brand as eco-products. Since these products contain the largest proportion of replaceable methanol, they also have the greatest impact in terms of sustainability. This is ensured without foregoing the usual high WACKER quality: ELASTOSIL® eco products have the same properties as our conventional sealants and can be processed as always – the only difference lies in the origin of the methanol used. This is also confirmed by the workmen who gave their all at WACKER House.
