Reduction in VOC emissions

Industrial processes generate waste streams which can be solid, liquid or gaseous in nature. Consumers fear volatile substances contained in the waste stream to be potentially hazardous, even toxic.
With his increasing concerns as well as more upcoming regulatory specifications, it requires alternative technologies.
CAVAMAX® and CAVASOL® cyclodextrins are a well-known group of natural carbohydrates, capable of encapsulating other organic molecules via a reversible equilibrium-controlled process.
This process of ‘molecular encapsulation’ effectively modifies the properties of the organic guest molecules, for example reducing volatility, masking odor to reduce odor in ambient, selective extraction, and improving stability or the water solubility of organic compounds.
CAVAMAX® and CAVASOL® cyclodextrins are easily applied and a proven viable solution, whether in the air, water or soil.

Benzene Removal using CAVASOL®
In an examination, benzene vapor was bubbled through cyclodextrin solutions containing different concentrations of CAVASOL® W7 M.
Up to 75% of the benzene was removed with the most concentrated solution of cyclodextrin. Toluene’s concentration was similarly reduced using CAVASOL® W7 M .

Odor Reduction using CAVAMAX®
With adding garlic powder to glass vials, and injecting CAVAMAX® on the following day, the opening of the vials as well as the odor intensity have been evaluated. Both CAVAMAX® W6 and W7 were able to reduce the odor intensity of the garlic.
