Labelexpo Asia 2017: WACKER Presents New Silicone Agents for Film Release Liners and Release Papers

At Labelexpo Asia 2017, WACKER will present two new silicone release coatings: DEHESIVE® EM 495 and DEHESIVE® SFX 275. DEHESIVE® EM 495 is a two-component silicone emulsion system which can be widely used in the paper and film release liner production. This product features good stability and shear resistance. It is especially suitable for PET off-line coating and is approved for food contact applications. The other product, DEHESIVE® SFX 275, is an addition-curing silicone which only needs a very low amount of catalyst for complete curing. Compared to traditional release coating systems, it can save as much as 40 percent of platinum consumption and thus significantly reduces the production costs of release papers and labels. Labelexpo Asia 2017 takes place in Shanghai from December 5 to 8.
DEHESIVE® EM 495 is a two-component silicone emulsion system for the production of paper and film release liners. The product, which consists of a polymer and a crosslinker, features good stability and shear resistance, and offers excellent wettability. The system cures quickly even when used with high dilution ratios and with a low platinum dosage.
DEHESIVE® EM 495 offers 90 percent subsequent adhesion and an outstanding anchorage to several substrates, including labels, tapes, wrapping paper, sanitation paper and baking paper. It is especially suitable for the off-line coating of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) films. The release agent complies with the relevant food contact safety standards of the German Agency for Risk Assessment (BfR) and the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
DEHESIVE® SFX 275 is a solvent-free, addition-curing silicone release coating which can be used for release papers and many other substrates. Thanks to its strong reactivity, this silicone polymer cures with a very low amount of catalyst. Compared to traditional release systems, DEHESIVE® SFX 275 can save as much as 40 percent of platinum consumption and thus significantly reduces the production costs of release papers and labels. It also features a low release force, a high subsequent adhesion and an excellent anchorage to a wide variety of substrates, such as Glassine and polyethylene coated paper. Due to its extremely low High Speed Release (HSR) properties, it is suitable for high-speed labelling. The product’s release properties stay intact even after long-time storage of the release paper.
