Tufted Broadloom Carpets

In tufted broadloom carpets, VINNAPAS® vinyl acetate-ethylene (VAE) polymer dispersions are used in precoats and secondary coatings. VINNAPAS® vinyl acetate-ethylene (VAE) polymer dispersions provide effective adhesion between the different layers. When used in the primary coating (precoat), VINNAPAS® products provide the strength to lock the tufts of yarn in place (tuftbind). In the secondary coating, they firmly bind the secondary backing to the carpet, resulting in robust dimensional stability.

Benefits:

  • Low odor
  • Low emissions
  • Good filler load
  • Good penetration and fiber adhesion (bond strength)
  • Compatible with formulation additives
  • Good thickener response
  • Good flame-retardant properties
  • Soft to stiff handfeel

Applications:

  • Tufted broadloom carpet backings
