Instead of opting for a siloxane-based solvent, WACKER chose to rely on an organic mixture of undecane and tridecane that is completely degraded in the environment by microorganisms. The methanol required in the silicone production process is replaced by biomethanol.

BELSIL® eco EG 3001 is based on biomethanol made from renewable raw materials and integrated into the production process using the mass balance method.
