SILRES® BS 5130 CN is developed and optimized to improve the miscibility with binders such as phenolic resin and used in the production environment without excessive ammonia. It can mixed well with most kinds of phenolic resins and has no by products and obvious sediments.Due to the phenolic resin solution has great difference among different additives, should make sure to test the compatibility of this product before using it in different factories. The formulation of the mixed solution largely determines its shelf life, so it is recommended to use it right after ready.
After test miscibility of SILRES® BS 5130 CN with phenolic resin, the solution can be applied by spray, or sprayed with a separate device. SILRES® BS 5130 CN can be simultaneously sprayed with the binder or shortly be sprayed before the binder is sprayed. When sprayed, the product can be diluted with water in any proportion. In normal condition 0.1~0.5% on rock wool and 0.2 ~ 0.6% on glass wool (the dosage base on the mass fraction of dry weight of finished products). The specific dosage of SILRES® BS 5130 CN depends on the specific hydrophobic requirements for the material to be treated, so we are unable to give specific recommendations.Te ts must be performed on different materials to determine the dosage of SILRES® BS 5130 CN.
SILRES® BS 5130 CN can also be sprayed as a hydrophobic for expanded perlite or similar porous materials. when be recommended to use in expanded perlite, the dosage is 0.3 1.0% base on weight of the treated material, when be recommended to use in light aggregates such as ceramsite, the dosage is 0.2 0.5% base on weight of the treated material. To reduce additional drying processes, SILRES® BS 5130 CN can be sprayed onto hot expanded materials. However, should avoid to prolonged high temperature heating to treated materials.
