BELSIL^® RG 90

BELSIL^® RG 90 is a non-emulsifying elastomer gel that is supplied as a 20% active elastomer in isododecane. It can be formulated in O/W, W/O and W/Si-emulsions as well as in anhydrous systems. The preferred way of incorporation into a formulation is to disperse BELSIL^® RG 90 in suitable oils and solvents. Alternatively, it can be added to the finished formulation. It provides a silky skin feel combined with hydrophobic film forming properties. These benefits are applicable in skin care, sun care and color cosmetic formulations. BELSIL^® RG 90 can improve water repellence of sun screen formulations. In color cosmetic applications like lipsticks and foundations, it improves transfer resistance. It also adds a cushiony feel to powder formulations like eye shadows.

The viscosity may increase during storage, and agitation may be required before use if stored for an extended period of time. Due to the thixotropic behaviour, the initial viscosity may be reduced by mechanical impact like stirring.
