BELSIL® eco EG 3001
BELSIL® eco EG 3001 elastomer gel is a silicone copolymer network blended with a mixture of Undecane and Tridecane. The product appears as a colorless, translucent gel. The combination of Undecane and Tridecane is known as a fast spreading, volatile emollient which is 100 percent renewable-based and readily biodegradable. In addition the silicone copolymer network included in BELSIL® eco EG 3001 is also based on renewable raw materials according to “TÜV NORD Standard REDcert²”.
The sensorial sensation of BELSIL® eco EG 3001 during the application and after use is quite close to silicone based elastomer gels. The gel is perceived very pleasant, light and powdery.

Properties
BELSIL® eco EG 3001 is easy to distribute on skin and gives a smooth, light and powdery feel. BELSIL® eco EG 3001 provides rheological benefits, imparts a thixotropic effect and has the ability to act as a thickening agent. It also shows a good combability with a variety of solvents and is easy to formulate.

BELSIL® eco EG 3001 is added typically to the oil or silicone phase of a formulation especially when formulating oil in water (O/W) formulations. In water in oil (W/O) formulations BELSIL® eco EG 3001 can also be added to an already formed emulsion system. The product should be dispersed well to yield optimum results, but short times of stirring are sufficient.
When BELSIL® eco EG 3001 is diluted with solvents, the viscosity of the product decreases significantly and hence can be easily adjusted. The performance properties of BELSIL® eco EG 3001 make it a versatile ingredient for various Skin Care, Color Cosmetic and Hair Care products. BELSIL® eco EG 3001 also imparts a cushiony feel to moisturizing creams, sunscreens lotions, eye gels, foundations, concealers and BB creams. BELSIL® eco EG 3001 can be used to thicken the oil phase of emulsions or anhydrous cosmetic formulations. In pressed powder cosmetics it acts as binder.
It is known from literature that solvents such as undecane and tridecane are not recommended for packaging made out of HDPE or LDPE.
However, this does not mean that the use of BELSIL® eco EG 3001 as an ingredient in a cosmetic formulation excludes the use of these packaging materials.
It is recommended to thoroughly test the compatibility of the respective cosmetic formulation with the selected packaging.
Storage
The 'Best use before end' date of each batch is shown on the product label. Storage beyond the date specified on the label does not necessarily mean that the product is no longer usable. In this case however, the properties required for the intended use must be checked for quality assurance reasons
