WACKER® F1006

WACKER® F1006 is a clear, colorless polydimethyl siloxane fluid having silanol group in the terminal position.

 

Due to the silanol groups WACKER® F1006 reacts with itself or with functional silanes in a condensation reaction.

 

The silanol fluids react with Si-H containing fluids by evolution of hydrogen.

The reactive WACKER® F1006 is suitable for intermolecular crosslinking for achieving the desired increase in elasticity.

Reactive silicones serve not only to improve the properties of the material, but also the processing conditions. For example, they are used in the finishing of jeans and in pigment printing.

WACKER® F1006 may be used to impart hydrophobicity to silica. For example, it can be mixed with silica at 0.5% to 10% weight level.

F1006 can be used neat, from solution or emulsion. Suitable solvents for F1006 are aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, chlorinated hydrocarbons, esters, higher alcohols and ketones.

The "Best use before end date" of each batch is shown on the Certificate of Analysis. Storage beyond the date specified on the Certificate of Analysis does not necessarily mean that the product is no longer usable. In this case however, the properties required for the intended use must be checked for quality assurance reasons.
