ELASTOSIL® COLOR PASTE PT LASER MARKING WHITE
ELASTOSIL® COLOR PASTE PT LASER MARKING WHITE is a ready-to-use masterbatch comprising specific pigments and reactive silicone polymers which are commonly used to produce ELASTOSIL® high-consistency silicone rubber.
This ensures a homogeneous covulcanization of the color paste without significant impairment of the physical properties (e.g. hardness) and without migration as it may be observed for systems based on silicone oil.
ELASTOSIL® COLOR PASTE PT LASER MARKING WHITE is intended to apply white markings on articles made from solid silicone rubber by use of laser light.

ELASTOSIL® COLOR PASTE PT LASER MARKING WHITE is ready-to-use and can be easily incorporated on an open roll mill or kneader.
The colors have generally a good resistance to sunlight and UV. The resistance should be checked for individual cases, especially for long term applications. If the dosage recommendations are followed, the mechanical properties of the colored vulcanizates are expected not to be significantly impaired.

ELASTOSIL® COLOR PASTE PT LASER MARKING WHITE has been developed particularly to generate white markings on parts made from ELASTOSIL® R and ELASTOSIL® R plus high consistency silicone rubber by irradiation with a suitable laser euipment.
ELASTOSIL® COLOR PASTE PT LASER MARKING WHITE may be used for coloring silicone parts intended for sensitive applications and complying with the “Recommendation XV. Silicones" and “IX. Pigments for coloring plastics" of the BfR and FDA Regulation CFR 21 § 177.2600 "Rubber Articles Intended for Repeated Use" under observance of any given limitations on extractable and volatile substances. ELASTOSIL® COLOR PASTES PT LASER MARKING are compatible with Curing Agents C1, C6, and E for peroxide curing ELASTOSIL® R grades and are also fully compatible with addition curing ELASTOSIL® R plus grades.
Approximately 0.5 to 1.0 % ELASTOSIL® COLOR PASTE PT LASER MARKING BLACK (TRL) or 1.0 to 2.0 % ELASTOSIL® COLOR PASTE PT LASER MARKING WHITE should be added. Mixing with other ELASTOSIL® PT pigment pastes is possible in order to produce laser markings on colored silicone articles. Such combinations have to be tested on case-by-case basis.
Incorporation into ELASTOSIL® R and ELASTOSIL® R plus grades is best performed on an open roll mill. Preferably, the curing agent is incorporated at the same time. The color paste is homogeneously dispersed when the rubber stock has a uniform color.
Typical marking lasers are pulsed beam lasers having a wavelength of approx. 1064 nm (near infrared), e.g.:
- Vanadate laser with 6-40 W, beam speed 50-1000 cm/s, frequency range 20-100 kHz for marking stations, static marking
- YAG laser with 6-40 W, beam speed 50-1000 cm/s, frequency range 20-100 kHz for marking stations, static marking
- Fiber laser with 20-300 W, beam speed 50-6000 cm/s, frequency range 20-400 kHz for high speed marking, marking on the fly and easy integration in production lines

This product is available in 20 kg cardboard packaging and 1kg tin.

Please store the cardboard boxes in a dry and cool place. Already opened boxes should be closed again to avoid any contamination.
The 'Best use before end' date of each batch is shown on the product label.
Storage beyond the date specified on the label does not necessarily mean that the product is no longer usable.
In this case however, the properties required for the intended use must be checked for quality assurance reasons.
