ELASTOSIL® COLOR PASTE FL LASER MARKING WHITE
ELASTOSIL® COLOR PASTE FL LASER MARKING WHITE is a ready-to-use masterbatch comprising specific pigments and reactive silicone polymers which are commonly used to produce ELASTOSIL® liquid silicone rubber.
This ensures a homogeneous covulcanization of the color paste without significant impairment of the physical properties (e.g. hardness) and without migration as it may be observed for systems based on silicone oil.
ELASTOSIL® COLOR PASTE FL LASER MARKING WHITE is intended to apply white markings on articles made from liquid silicone rubber by use of laser light.
Properties
ELASTOSIL® COLOR PASTE FL LASER MARKING WHITE is pourable and ready-to-use after thorough stirring. A dilution is not required. The colors have generally a good resistance to sunlight and UV. The resistance should be checked for individual cases, especially for long term applications. If the dosage recommendations are followed, the mechanical properties of the colored vulcanizates are not expected to be significantly impaired.

Data sheets
ELASTOSIL® COLOR PASTE FL LASER MARKING WHITE has been developed particularly to generate white markings on parts made from addition-curing ELASTOSIL® LR liquid silicone rubber or addition curing ELASTOSIL® RTV-2 silicone rubber by irradiation with a suitable laser equipment.
ELASTOSIL® COLOR PASTE FL LASER MARKING WHITE may be used for coloring silicone parts intended for sensitive applications and complying with the “Recommendation XV. Silicones" and “IX. Pigments for coloring plastics" of the BfR and FDA Regulation CFR 21 § 177.2600 "Rubber Articles Intended for Repeated Use" under observance of any given limitations on extractable and volatile substances. Please see the actual Product Compliance Sheet of this product and/or the separate Food Contact Statement for detailed information about food contact including information about any limitation in view of dosage and/or condition of use that may apply for this product.
Before using ELASTOSIL® COLOR PASTES FL, the paste must be thoroughly stirred. This is also required if there has been a long interruption in production. It may be necessary to repeat this procedure in case of very long production runs.
Approximately 0.2 to 0.5 % ELASTOSIL® COLOR PASTE FL LASER MARKING BLACK, 0.5 to 1.0 % ELASTOSIL® COLOR PASTE FL LASER MARKING BLACK TRL or 0.2 to 1.0 % ELASTOSIL® COLOR PASTE FL LASER MARKING WHITE should be added. Mixing with other ELASTOSIL® FL pigment pastes is possible in order to create laser markings on colored silicone articles. Such combinations have to be tested on case-by-case basis.
Typical marking lasers are pulsed beam lasers having a wavelength of approx. 1064 nm (near infrared), e.g.:
- Vanadate laser with 6-40 W, beam speed 50-1000 cm/s, frequency range 20-100 kHz for marking stations, static marking
- YAG laser with 6-40 W, beam speed 50-1000 cm/s, frequency range 20-100 kHz for marking stations, static marking
- Fiber laser with 20-300 W, beam speed 50-6000 cm/s, frequency range 20-400 kHz for high-speed marking, marking on the fly and easy integration in production lines.
Packaging
This product is available in 20 kg pail and 1kg tin.
Storage
The 'Best use before end' date of each batch is shown on the product label.
Storage beyond the date specified on the label does not necessarily mean that the product is no longer usable.
In this case however, the properties required for the intended use must be checked for quality assurance reasons.
