ELASTOSIL® 47007

Solvent free, addition curing silicone top coat


Properties

  •  dull, non blocking surface
  •  soft hand
  •  low coefficient of friction
  •  dirt repellent
  •  good adhesion to silicone rubber
  •  can be bonded with silicone glues
  •  easy processing

ELASTOSIL® 47007 can be used as a top coat on silicone rubber coated air bag fabrics to achieve a dull, non-blocking surface with low coefficient of friction. Furthermore, this protective layer improves the dirt repellency of silicone rubber coatings for protective clothing and architectural membranes (especially for indoor applications).
 

After thorough homogenization, ELASTOSIL® 47007 is processed by incorporation of a crosslinker and applied via blade coating or gravure printing.  

 

Recommended ratio is 100 parts of ELASTOSIL® 47007 plus

 

- 10 parts of CROSSLINKER 525 or

- 5 parts of CROSSLINKER HX or

- 3 parts of CROSSLINKER W

 

Recommend curing conditions: 2 min at 180°C

Packaging

This product is available in 1 kg cans, 30 kg pails and 250 kg drum kits.

Storage

Once opened, containers should always be resealed after use to prevent the platinum catalyst from being poisoned by amines, sulphur or phosphorus compounds.

The 'Best use before end' date of each batch is shown on the product label. Storage beyond the date specified on the label does not necessarily mean that the product is no longer usable. In this case however, the properties required for the intended use must be checked for quality assurance reasons.

During storage fillers can settle and the viscosity of this product will drop. It is advisable to homogenize the product thoroughly before use.
