WACKER® IM 35

WACKER® IM 35 Wacker IM 35 is a linear, alpha-omega functional Polydimethylsiloxane having a chain consisting of approx. 50 dimethyl siloxane units. Both epoxygroups on the end of the chain are linked by Si-C bonds; these bonds are stable towards hydrolysis. The epoxy-groups have no steric hinderance and can by this undergo all chemical reactions of this group.

Processing

WACKER® IM 35 is insoluble in water and can therefore directly only be dissolved with organic solvents. Emulsification is possible, however the epoxy group needs to remain untouched by this process. Nucleophilic agents will open the epoxy-ring.

Storage

The 'Best use before end' date of each batch is shown on the product label. Storage beyond the date specified on the label does not necessarily mean that the product is no longer usable. In this case however, the properties required for the intended use must be checked for quality assurance reasons.
