JETSOFT® NFS

JETSOFT® NFS is an aqueous composition containing a selfdispersing aminofunctional silicone fluid.


Properties

JETSOFT® NFS is a cationic silicone softener specifically developed for jet application. It can be used for common fibers, such as cotton, polyester, polyamides and mixtures. Thanks to the special molecular structure of the polymer, JETSOFT® NFS can be applied by conventional jet dyeing machines without provoking stability or foaming problems known from standard silicone softeners. Fabrics treated with JETSOFT® NFS can generally be overdyed, but preliminary trials are recommended.

Processing: 

The application of JETSOFT® NFS is recommended after the soaping and rinsing of the dyed fabric. It can be combined with the cationic aftertreatment of dyes for improving color-fastness. Treatment should be carried out at room temperature. Constant, weakly acidic conditions should be maintained throughout the treatment by addition of acetic acid to the pad bath. To avoid a pH shift due to alkali washed out of the fabric, a suitable excess of acetic acid should be used. For completely uniform distribution, addition in several portions is recommended.

Because of the strongly cationic nature of JETSOFT® NFS, combination with anionic auxiliaries such as optical brighteners in one pad bath could cause coagulation of the components. Before using JETSOFT® NFS with other auxiliaries in the same pad bath, always test the compatibility. For jet application, we recommend to use 3 % based on the weight of the fabric.

Storage

The 'Best use before end' date of each batch is shown on the product label. Storage beyond the date specified on the label does not necessarily mean that the product is no longer usable. In this case however, the properties required for the intended use must be checked for quality assurance reasons.
