WACKER^® FINISH CT 55 E

WACKER^® FINISH CT 55 E preparations can be used either on their own or combined with resins and other finishes. To prepare dilutions and formulations of WACKER^® FINISH CT 55 E , gently stir in the required amount of demineralized water (avoiding high shear rates), either continuously or in portions. Adjust the pH by addition of acetic acid if necessary and add a suitable preservative. Finally, continue stirring until the mixture is homogeneous and transfer it to the packaging container through an approx. 100-µm filter. Dilutions formulated by this method have a shelf life of at least 3 months (see shelf life below). More dilute preparations or formulations with other active substances should be tested individually. This is particularly important for formulations with anionic components. WACKER^® FINISH CT 55 E can also be used for textile finishing as it is. It is preferrably applied by padding and drying at 130 to 150°C. High shear forces should be avoided during application. For the pad method 10 – 20 g/l of WACKER^® FINISH CT 55 E are generally recommended to achieve the best result. WACKER^® FINISH CT 55 E can be combined with resins and other finishing agents. Higher crease recovery angles and lower abrasion values can be obtained in resin finishes with WACKER^® FINISH CT 55 E.


WACKER^® FINISH CT 55 E is particularly suitable for the impregnation of all kinds of fibers and textiles. It imparts a very soft, drapable, full hand to a wide range of fiber materials such as cotton (CO), polyester (PES), viscose (CV) and their mixtures. Treatment with WACKER^® FINISH CT 55 E improves the sewability, wash-and-wear properties, easy-iron and crease recovery. Effects are resistant to washing and dry cleaning. When applied under normal conditions, WACKER^® FINISH CT 55 E has very little effect on the degree of whiteness. It does not adversely affect the shade or color fastness of colored articles.
