GENIOSIL® 9151 is an an amino-functional silane hydrolysate which acts as an adhesion promoter between inorganic materials and organic polymers.
The functional silanol groups of the GENIOSIL® 9151 can bond to various inorganic substrates, the organofunctional amino group can interact with suitable organic materials.
The advantage of GENIOSIL® 9151 compared to standard aminofunctional alkoxysilanes is its non-flammability and the very low content of volatile organic components like alcohols. GENIOSIL® 9151 can be mixed with water in all proportions.
Typical inorganic substrates which can react with GENIOSIL® 9151 are glass and glass fibers; oxides like silicic acid, quartz, alumina, talc, clay, mica; metal oxides like titaniumdioxide, zinc oxide, iron oxide and metals like aluminium or iron.
Typical organic substrates are polymers like polyurethanes, polyamides, polyesters and polycarbonates but also reactive resins like melamine resins or epoxy resins.
GENIOSIL® 9151 is storage stable up to 12 months and almost free from volatile, organic components (VOC).
During storage we observe the formation of a concentration gradient within the container leading to a slightly higher solid content in the lower part of the container and slightly lower solid content at the upper part of the container. Homogenizing the content of the container prior to use is therefore highly recommend to get a uniform product quality.
