WACKER® Silane 25013 VP
Colorless, clear liquid with weak odor. WACKER® Silane 25013 VP has a low volatility and low viscosity and is therefore an easy to handle additive.
WACKER® Silane 25013 VP is soluble in common, non-polar organic solvents but insoluble in water. Upon reaction with water WACKER® Silane 25013 VP will release a certain amount of Methanol (VOC).
特性
WACKER® Silane 25013 VP is a monomeric alkylalkoxysilane having a saturated, long alkyl chain substituent.
When exposed to even traces of moisture the alkoxysilane part of WACKER® Silane 25013 VP is reactive towards the surface of inorganic materials like mineral fillers or even concrete. The WACKER® Silane 25013 VP will react to form a alkyl-functionalized surface surrounding e.g. the mineral filler particles. This functionalized surface will result in an increased compatibility of the fillers with certain, mainly polyolefin-based thermoplastic materials.
Avoid access of moisture during handling and processing.
Process chemical for polyolefin production: The method of use is so dependent upon the manufacturer's own process that no specific suggestions can be made.
Filler Dispersion: WACKER® Silane 25013 VP is used for the surface treatment of mineral fillers (e.g. ATH, MDH) or pigments in thermoplastic compounding applications. The long-chain alkyl substituent improves the dispersion of the mineral fillers in the thermoplastic compounds therefore enabling high filler loadings. Thermoplastic ompounds (e.g. polyolefin based) with surface treated fillers by using WACKER® Silane 25013 VP will have enhanced mechanical properties and reduced water uptake. Recommended loading levels of WACKER® Silane 25013 VP in mineral filled thermoplastic compounds are 0.5 to 2.0 wt% WACKER® Silane 25013 VP based on the weight of minerals or pigments.

WACKER® Silane 25013 VP should be stored in a dry and ventilated storage compartment; Exposure to water, moisture, high temperature and fire has to be avoided. WACKER® Silane 25013 VP has a shelf life of 36 months from production if stored in tightly closed original container at room temperature.
WACKER® Silane 25013 VP should be protected from temperatures below 5 °C. The product crystallizes when stored at very low temperatures (e.g. at 0 °C) but will become a liquid again after exposure to temperatures above 5 °C.
The 'Best use before end' date of each batch is shown on the product label.
Storage beyond the date specified on the label does not necessarily mean that the product is no longer usable. In this case however, the properties required for the intended use must be checked for quality assurance reasons.
