Burghausen – A highly attractive location to do business in
Numbering approximately 18,000 inhabitants, Burghausen, with its modern infrastructure, is one of Bavaria’s most successful centers of business and innovation. A highly efficient network of numerous companies representing skilled trades, services and industry in and around Burghausen is what makes it such an attractive business location.
“We believe in transparency and open dialogue and maintain neighborly relations with the region.”
Dr. Peter von Zumbusch, Burghausen site manager
100 Years of WACKER in Burghausen
The longstanding links between WACKER and Burghausen are a wonderful success story: Dr, Alexander Wacker founded Wacker Chemie on October 13, 1914. Production commenced at the Burghausen site in 1916, with some 450 employees. Today, Burghausen has a workforce of over 8,000 and is the global company’s largest site. Production here is centered around five raw materials: metallurgical-grade silicon, methanol, ethylene, acetic acid and rock salt. Over 3,000 different products are manufactured from these and other raw and auxiliary materials.
