Insulation Materials

SILRES® BS silicone emulsions are used to improve the performance of mineral insulation materials. SILRES® BS creates a hydrophobic surface-bound silicone network that reduces capillary water uptake while retaining permeability to water vapor. As a result, thermal conductivity is optimized over the long term and the treated insulating materials are effectively protected against moisture-induced damage.
Applications
Hydrophobic impregnation of insulating materials used in the following:
- Exterior insulation
- Wall insulation
- Roof insulation
- Loose-fill insulation
