Application
Basically, SILFOAM® eco SD 670 is recommended for all organic systems that require a highly compatible antifoam agent.
Thus, it is ideal for applications in which silicones would usually cause problems, e. g., printing inks, adhesives, and water miscible cooling lubricants.
It is particularly recommended for systems with a high surfactant content or which entail high shear forces, e. g., the incorporation of pigments into dispersions.
In those systems purely organic defoamers rapidly become ineffective.
SILFOAM® eco SD 670 also serves as an antifoam agent for strongly foaming, fine particle rich suspensions and in the production of redispersible powders.
Processing
The exact dosage must be determined in preliminary tests.
We recommend starting with amounts between 0.05% and 0.3%.
Generally, the product should be added as it is, as its self-dispersing properties will usually ensure an adequate and homogeneous distribution.
If SILFOAM® eco SD 670 is diluted with water, the resultant dispersion must be used quickly.
Lagerung
The 'Best use before end' date of each batch is shown on the product label.
Storage beyond the date specified on the label does not necessarily mean that the product is no longer usable.
In this case however, the properties required for the intended use must be checked for quality assurance reasons.
