SIPELL® RE 63 F
Eigenschaften
SIPELL® RE 63 F is used as a basic material for the formulation of water-based water repellents, especially for the wet-end application on leather. The epoxy function is suitable to react with nucleophilic groups of the protein matrix. Especially amino as well as hydroxyl and mercapto groups could react to form a chemical bonding with the epoxy function of the silicone. The water repellent effect is therefore not dependant on chromium tanned leather.
If water-based formulations of SIPELL® RE 63 F are made, care needs to be taken on the selection of the emulsifier to avoid effect reducing hydrophilicity. The application of the formulated water repellents is recommended in the wet-end process. Pre-tests are recommended in order to avoid incompatibility with the fat liquors.

Store in a dry and cool place.
The 'Best use before end' date of each batch is shown on the product label.
Storage beyond the date specified on the label does not necessarily mean that the product is no longer usable. In this case however, the properties required for the intended use must be checked for quality assurance reasons.
