Free Eye and Health Camp for CBC, ECG and Eye Checkups

Wacker Metroark Chemicals, a JV between Wacker Chemie AG and Metroark Chemicals Pvt. Ltd, conducted an eye and health camp on 4th July 2017 for the holistic development of the poor in rural areas. More than 300 visitors attended this free camp, which included CBC, ECG and eye checkups.

As a part of the corporate social responsibility of Wacker Metroark Chemicals, we would like to conduct at least one free health camp a year, targeting those who do not have easy access to healthcare, an expensive commodity in this country. We at WACKER have taken up this initiative to spread awareness of health and fitness amongst rural people of all ages and from all walks of life.”

The day long camp saw the enthusiastic participation of hundreds of visitors. A team of specialist doctors, consultants, nurses and volunteers conducted free consultations throughout. The camp included tests for blood sugar, ECG and eye checkups. This was followed by a giveaway of free spectacles, which over 200 people availed of. Also provided were free cataract operations for around 20 people.
