Life’s journey can follow a straight line, or it can meander: what’s important to us is how you respond. A priority of WACKER’s HR strategy is enabling employees to balance their professional and private lives. Our modern worktime models offer you utmost flexibility. They accommodate the different phases of our employees’ lives.
WACKER was one of the first to sign a joint declaration by Germany’s “Family as a Success Factor” business network – set up as part of an initiative by the Federal Ministry of Family Affairs and the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce. In Bavaria’s 2018 “Successful. Family-Friendly” corporate competition, the Bavarian government honored WACKER for its exemplary support in reconciling family life and work.
Our wide range of flexitime models includes working-time autonomy (a self-regulated system based on trust). Where possible, we offer both full-time and part-time positions. In specific cases, employees can opt for a mobile office (also part-time) or take unpaid leave for urgent personal matters or for a sabbatical. Wacker Chemie AG offers one week of paid “family time” to parents of children up to the age of eight.
We offer our employees in Germany a range of services for finding childcare or returning to work after parental leave. There is a return-to-work workshop every year in Burghausen, for instance. Further, Burghausen has places reserved for preschools and after-school care. One service provider we work with helps employees in Munich and Burghausen find childcare places. Another advises employees at both these sites if family members should fall ill and need nursing care.
